No idea why I haven't written a review for Song Huong yet. Easily my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary. I usually get the Pho Dac Biet and I always make sure to get the Bo Tai Chanh, which is sliced rare beef marinated in lime sauce. The flavours that are going on in that dish are just amazing. I somehow still haven't tried the Bun Bo Hue but after reading all the positive reviews on here, I will make sure to order it on my next vist.
The prices are decent, service is friendly, and food is great. it's a go-to spot for me if I'm craving Vietnamese or if I'm having friends in town that are looking for some good pho. I live downtown and even with the abundance of this particular cuisine in the city, I have no problem driving to the Northeast for Song Huong...so that should tell you something. -

Searched for a decent Pho place here in Calgary and Song Huong popped up, arrived at around 1ish on a Sunday, was busy and 90% filled. Got our table after 5 minutes, ordered Spring Roll as our first course, and then Pho for main, we had the House Special and the Seafood Clear Noodle.
I have to say Beef Pho is much much better then my Seafood Clear Noodle, as I recall, other Pho shops also has this but the noodles are much more translucent and had a bouncier texture. The one here is very much like a regular Pho. But what I am not too satisfied with their version is that there is virtually no real seafood except the 4 prawns, and the rest is the Fake Crab Meat. The broth has way too much MSG, too bad I ordered this instead of the Beef Pho or BBH, as I usually go for BBH.
The Spring Roll is done very well and they used Rice Paper for the wrapping instead of Egg Roll Wrappers, this shows their authenticity, the dipping sauce is also well balanced and made the dish outstanding!!
I don't know if I will be back, but I still am very curious about their BBH! -

I can't believe I haven't written a review for Song Huong. This is my fave spot for bun bo hue, spring rolls and clam vermicelli. Service is fast, food is the best I've had and the prices are awesome. My husband and I feasted on three dishes for under $30.
The soup base is sour, sweet, salty and tangy. I always order it without blood cubes. Just not there yet. I like the vegetable mix - not your standard sprouts and basil. I have yet to find another restaurant that can make bun bo hue as good as Song Huong.
Spring rolls are light and have a chewy, crispy skin. I like the dipping sauce - it's pungent.
I like the clam vermicelli but it's not as mind blowing as the bun bo hue. Spicy and tasty. I wish the clams were a bit bigger. -

Found this by accident after playing Mini Golf in the NE, so we went in to have some pho, and I had a rice meal, suffice to say, pho was very good, big servings as well as my rice meal, at a decent price, service is good too! Would definitely recommend! Reading at the comments, I felt like I just copied what they're saying, but it's all true! Kudos, keep it up!
